    Recipe Introduction

Bengal Coach Jonathan Hayes' wife Kristi Hayes

    List of Ingredients

    # 1 - 12oz. Pkg. King's Hawaiian Sweet Rolls*
    # 1 lb. Thinly sliced or shaved Ham**
    # ½ lb. Swiss Cheese, shredded
    # ¼ Cup Butter
    # 1 Tab. Worcestershire Sauce
    # 1 ½ Tab. Dijon Mustard
    # ½ Tab. Minced Dried Onion or Onion Flakes***
    # 1 Tab. Poppy Seeds

    Recipe

Slice rolls in half. Evenly distribute and stack ham on the bottom halves of rolls. Top with the shredded cheese. Place tops of rolls back on top of the ham and cheese. Place little sandwiches onto a cookie sheet or in a 13 x 9" pan. Melt butter and whisk in the remaining ingredients, Worcestershire Sauce through poppy seeds. Pour butter mixture over the top of the sandwiches. Cover the sandwiches with aluminum foil and refrigerate overnight. Remove the Bengal Buns from the refrigerate and do not uncover. Preheat the oven to 350 degrees. Bake the Bengal Buns, covered with foil, for 40 minutes, until the Bengal Buns are warmed through and the cheese is melted. Touchdown! Kristi notes that although this makes 12 Bengal Buns, she has never known anyone to eat just one, so plan on your football fans eating at least two each! This recipe doubles easily and you can simply arrange the Bengal Buns on a larger cookie sheet as they should be stacked close together.

*This recipe works just as well using either roast beef or turkey for the ham.

***Minced dried onion is found in Jungle's spice section along with the poppy seeds.
