    450g/1lb Firm Cabbage, green or white, finely shredded

    4 tbsp Double Cream

    Freshly Grated Nutmeg

    A knob of Butter

    Salt and plenty of Black Pepper

    Recipe



    1. Bring a large pan of lightly salted water to the boil, add the cabbage, reduce the .



    2. Meanwhile, melt the butter in the saucepan, add the cream, nutmeg, and plenty of black pepper and mix well. Do not boil.



    3. Return the well drained cabbage to the pan and mix well until thoroughly coated and heated through. Transfer to a warmed serving dish. Serve hot.



    For those who don't like Brussels, this is a welcoming alternative to serve at Christmas or Easter with turkey, goose or pork.


    Serves 4.
