5 gallons fresh turnips, leaves and/or roots
8 cups water
2 slices bacon (I like smoked) or ham
1 teaspoon salt
Recipe
1. Wash/rinse leaves and roots carefully Checking for sand and bugs.
2. Place in collander to drain set aside Place water, salt, and meat in large boiler Bring to a boil Add turnips Cook for 45 min.
3. (longer if bigger leaves) Serve with cornbread.
