List of Ingredients
1/2 lb. pitted dates
1/2 lb. walnut meats
3 large apples, cored and peeled
1 large unpeeled seedless orange, washed very well and quartered
2 large bananas
1/2 cup sweet Malaga wine
1/2 tsp. cinnamon
1/8 tsp. ground cloves
1 tbl. fresh lemon juice
Matzo meal, as needed
Recipe
Chop dates, walnuts, apples and orange very fine in food processor. Transfer to a bowl.
Mash the bananas and add to the fruit and nut mixture. Add the wine, cinnamon, cloves and lemon juice, and mix well. Add matzo meal as needed to make a mortarlike paste.
Serves 12.
