Oatmeal Biscuits

List of Ingredients
100 g medium oatmeal
1 cup (100 g) 4 oz self raising (self rising) flour
1/2 tsp salt
a pinch of sugar
3/4 stick + 1 tbsp (3 1/2 oz) 100 g butter or margarine
2 tbsp beaten egg
2 tbsp spoons water
flour for rolling out
fat for greasing
Recipe
1. Heat the oven to moderate, 180°C, Gas 4.
2. Mix all the dry ingredients together and rub in the fat.
3. Mix the egg with the water and use this to bind the dry ingredients together into a stiff paste.
4. Roll out on a lightly floured surface to just under 1 cm thick.
5. Cut into rounds with a 5-6 cm cutter.
6. Prick the surface of the biscuits with a fork and place on a greased baking sheet.
7. Bake for 15-20 minutes.
