    List of Ingredients




    2 Cups Self Raising Flour
    Pinch of Cayenne Pepper
    ½ Tsp Mustard Powder
    ½ Tsp Salt
    3 Tbsp Western Star Butter
    1 Cup Grated Good-Quality Cheese, preferably cheddar
    1 Tbsp Finely Chopped Chives
    1 Egg, lightly beaten
    ¾ Cup Milk
    2 Tbsp Water
    Extra Western Star Butter, for serving


    Recipe



    Preheat the oven to 180C. Lightly grease and/or line a 23cm loaf tin.

    Sift the flour, pepper, mustard and salt into a large bowl. Rub the butter in with your fingertips until the mixture resembles breadcrumbs.
    Add the remaining ingredients and mix to a soft dough, adding extra liquid if necessary. Form into a smooth dough.

    Pour into the prepared loaf tin and place in the oven for 30-35 minutes or until golden and cooked through when skewered.

    Serve warm, sliced with butter
