ULTRA ALMOND CAKE

List of Ingredients
1 cup (8 oz) almond paste, lightly packed
1 box (18.5 oz) yellow cake mix
1/2 tsp. cinnamon
1/4 tsp. nutmeg
3/4 cup sherry
1/2 tsp. almond extract
Almond Glaze
1/3 cup blanched slivered almonds, toasted
Recipe
Pulse almond paste in food processor, with metal blade in place, until finely chopped. Add dry cake mix, cinnamon and nutmeg; process until thoroughly mixed. Add remaining cake ingredients according to directions on cake mix box, substituting 3/4 cup sherry for 3/4 cup water. Stir in almond extract. Pour cake batter into well greased 12-cup bundt pan; bake and cool, according to package directions. Spoon Almond Glaze over top of cake; sprinkle glaze with almonds before serving.
Almond Glaze: Mix 1 cup sifted powdered sugar, 1 to 2 Tbs. Milk and ¼ tsp. almond extract. Cover and chill until ready to use.
