    2 tablespoons unsalted butter, at room temperature
    4 large eggs
    1 cup packed light brown sugar
    3 cups heavy cream
    1 cup milk
    1 teaspoon pure vanilla extract
    1/2 teaspoon ground cinnamon
    1 cup dried cherries
    6 cups day-old 1/2-inch bread cubes
    6 ounces white chocolate, chopped
    2 tablespoons unsalted butter, melted

    Preheat the oven to 350 degrees F.
    Butter a 10-by-14-inch baking dish with the butter and set aside.
    Whisk the eggs in a large bowl. Add the brown sugar, cream, and milk, and whisk to blend well. Add the vanilla, cinnamon, dried cherries, bread, and chocolate, and stir to mix well. Stir in the melted butter and pour into the prepared dish. Bake until firm, about 1 hour.
    Remove from the oven and cool on a rack until just warm, about 20 minutes.
    Serve warm.
