    Topping:

    Mix until coarse and crumbly and set aside:
    3 Tbs. butter
    ¼ cup light brown sugar
    ¼ cup rolled oats
    ¼ cup flour
    ¼ cup chopped nuts
    ½ tsp. cinnamon


    Batter:

    Whisk together:
    1-1/2 cups buttermilk
    2 eggs
    Whisk in:
    ¾ cup butter, melted

    In a separate large bowl, combine well:
    3-1/4 cups flour
    1 cup light brown sugar
    2-1/2 tsp. baking powder
    ½ tsp. baking soda
    ½ tsp. cinnamon

    Pour buttermilk mixture over flour mixture, stirring just to moisten
    Scoop ¼ cup of batter into prepared muffin pans (will be almost full).

    Sprinkle topping, covering completely.

    Bake at 400°F. for 15-18 minutes or until tested done.
    Cool 3 minutes before turning out onto rack.

    Yield: 14 muffins
