Heat to 110°F.:
1-1/2 cups milk
1/3 cup molasses
2 tsp. salt
¼ cup margarine, cut into pieces (doesn’t have to melt)
In a large bowl, dissolve:
2 packages yeast
½ cup warm water
Stir in milk mixture and beat in to make a stiff dough:
5 cups of whole wheat flour, 1 cup/time
Turn dough onto floured surface.
Knead 5-20 minutes until smooth and satiny, adding flour as necessary.
Divide dough in half. Shape and place into greased loaf pans.
Wrap and freeze immediately.
To bake, remove loaves from freezer, cover with a cloth and let them thaw at room temperature, about 2 hours. Let them rise in a warm place until almost doubled, about another 2 hours.
Brush with melted butter and bake in preheated 375°F. for 30 minutes or until they sound hollow when tapped.
Transfer to racks to cool.
Yield: 2 loaves
