    Honey Wheat Batter Bread

    In a large bowl, combine:
    2-1/2 cups whole wheat flour
    1 tsp. salt
    2 packages yeast

    Heat to 120°F.-130°F. and then pour at low speed into dry mixture to blend:
    2 cups buttermilk
    ½ cup honey
    ½ cup margarine

    Add and beat 2 minutes:
    1 egg, room temperature
    1 cup flour, or enough to make a thick batter

    With spoon, stir in to make a stiff batter:
    1 cup flour

    Cover and let rise until doubled, about 1 hour.

    Stir down and spread into 2 greased loaf pans.
    Cover and let rise until doubled, about 45 minutes to 1 hour.

    Bake at 350°F. for 35 minutes.

    Yield: 2 loaves
