    No-Knead Wheat Bread

    Source of Recipe

    Fannie Farmer
Mix in a large bowl and let cool to lukewarm:
2 cups hot milk (use powdered)
    1/3 cup molasses
    1-1/2 tsp. salt

Combine and let stand 5 minutes to dissolve:
    ¼ cup warm water
    1 package yeast

    Add to lukewarm mixture:
    Dissolved yeast
    4-1/3 cups whole wheat flour

Beat well, cover and let rise in warm place until doubled, about 1 hour.

Beat briefly and turn into a greased loaf pan.

Cover and let rise again to almost doubled, about 30 minutes.

Bake at 350°F. for 35-40 minutes.

    Yield: 1 loaf

Notes: 10/83 -- Very easy. Is a dark, moist bread with strong molasses aroma. Using honey yields a lighter in color and sweeter loaf.
