    1-1/2 pt. ice cream (any flavor)
    2-1/2 cans sliced pineapple
    6 egg whites
    1 tsp. pure vanilla extract
    1/4 tsp. salt
    3/4 cup sugar

    Recipe



    Chill pineapple at least 3 hours, drain thoroughly,

    Beat egg whites until frothy with van extract and salt. Add sugar gradually, beating well after each addition. Beat meringue until peaks are formed and when egg whites don't slide

    Pat pineapple slices dry with paper towel, arrange on WOODEN BOARD. Place one scoop of ice cream in center of each pineapple. Completely cover ice cream with meringue, spreading evenly. Be sure to seal bottom edge to pineapple slice. Place board with individual alaskas in 450 degree oven for about 4 minutes, and no longer until meringue is lightly browned. Remove to serving platter. SERVE IMMEDIATELY.
