    Joanne's Cabbage Casserole

    List of Ingredients


    • 1 head cabbage, cut into small pieces
    • 1 can italian seasoned tomato soup
    • 1 can tomato sauce
    • 1 lb hamburger
    • 1 cup minute rice
    • mozzarella & cheddar cheese, shredded
    • 1 onion, chopped
    • seasonings to your liking : garlic, salt , pepper


    Instructions


    1. You can boil the cabbage for about 5 minutes in salted water before adding to the casserole dish or just place uncooked, cut cabbage into a buttered casserole dish. Mix together tomato soup and sauce and pour a little over top the cabbage.

    2. Brown ground beef with onions, remove from stove and drain off fat. Mix rice into beef mixture. Layer beef mixture overtop cabbage in casserole dish.

    3. Pour remaining soup mixture overtop meatlayer. Sprinkle cheese on top. Cover with foil and bake at 350 degrees for 35 minutes if you boiled cabbage first. If you used uncooked cabbage cook casserole for 1 hour at 350 degrees. Take foil off last five minutes of cooking so cheese can brown and melt.
