1 Egg, beaten
1 C. Buttermilk OR Sour Milk
1/2 C. Finely chopped Onion
1/4 C. Water
1 3/4 C. Cornmeal
1/2 C. Flour
1 T. Sugar
2 t. B. Powder
1 t. Salt
1/2 t. B. Soda
Veg. Oil - enough for deep frying

Recipe



In mixing bowl, stir together; egg, milk, onion, and water.
Set aside.
In lrg. mixing bowl, combine; cornmeal, flour, sugar, b. soda and powder, and salt. Add egg mixture and stir just until moistened. Drop by Tabls.ful into deep hot oil (375') and fry about 2 minutes or golden brown, turning once.
Drain on paper towels.
