Recipe Introduction
This is my favorite rendition of this classic frosting.
List of Ingredients
1/3 C. Crisco shortening
1/3 C. Butter
1/2 t. Vanilla
3 C. sifted Powdered Sugar
2 T. MilkRecipe
In large mixing bowl; Cream the butter and shortening with electric mixer. Add the vanilla.
Gradually add the sugar, one cup at a time, beating well after each addition on medium speed. Scrape sides and bottom of bowl often.
When all the sugar has been mixed in, icing will appear dry.
Add the milk and beat on high speed untill light and fluffy.
Keep covered with a damp cloth untill your finished using it. Keep in fridge when not in use.
*** This can be stored in the fridge in an airtight container for "up to" 2 weeks. Just re-whip before using***
