3 C. Sugar
1/2 C. Water
1/2 C. Light Corn Syrup
3 Egg Whites
Food coloring (opt.)
Nuts, crushed candy etc...
Recipe
Put sugar, corn syrup, and water in pan over low heat.
Stir intill sugar mixture forms a soft ball - but firm when in cold water.
Beat egg whites, beating untill stiff peaks form. Pour half of the syrup over the beaten egg whites - beating continually.
Cook remainder of syrup untill it reaches hard crack stage.
Pour over egg white mixture. Stir in crushed candy or finely ground/chopped nuts and food coloring if desired.
Drop by spoonfuls onto wax paper.
**** To make Easter Eggs****
Add 1 heaping T. unflavored gelatin or flavored jello mix to the egg whites and beat well before adding the syrup.
Form into egg shape and dip into melted chocolate. Or use molds.
