2 C. Sugar
dash salt
2 C. White Corn Syrup
1.2 C. Butter*
2 C. Evaported Milk
1 t. Vanilla
3/4 C. Walnuts or Pecans, finely ground
Recipe
Mix together sugar, salt, & corn syrup in a lrg. pot and bring to a boil stirring constantly untill it reaches 240'on a candy thermometer and is a thick syrup.
Add the butter, after melted, slowly add the milk so that it doesn't stop boiling. Cook fast to "firm ball stage"-stirring constantly.
Add vanilla and nuts, stir well and pour into a buttered sheet pan with sides. Cool and cut in individual peices. Wrap peices in wax paper and twist ends.
