    List of Ingredients

    1 C. Sugar
    2 T. Karo syrup
    1 C. Butter (2 sticks)
    2 T. Water
    chopped nuts
    chocolate chips

    Recipe

    Mix the sugar, butter, karo and water in a heavy saucepan.
    Cook, stirring gently all the time until it changes color and is a very light brown and is "brittle" when tested in cold water. (also known as the "hardcrack" stage)

    Have a thin layer of chopped nuts in bottom of a 9x13" pan.
    Pour the hot mixture carefully over the nuts.
    Next, sprinkle chocolate chips (about 1 cup) over the hot mixture and let melt. When melted-spread evenly. Then I like to sprinkle the top with finely chopped/ground nuts before the chocolate sets up.

    Let cool and break into pieces. Store in a tightly sealed container.
