Grandma Scott's Oatmeal Cookies by moo

    Source of Recipe

    (stephie plum)

    Recipe Introduction

moo's Note - This recipe is 100+ years old. I can't tell you how many batches of this cookie have been made. My great g'ma always added ground raisins, because that is what she could afford. My family loves it with milk chocolate chips.

I recommend using only unsalted butter, make a day ahead so dough can be refrigerated.

I often make a double or triple batch, and make dough balls with my cookie scoop, which I freeze. Then I remove from the cookie sheet that I froze them on and place in a ziploc bag. When I am ready to bake, just place on a cookie sheet as described above, baking just a minute or two longer.

I hope I have explained this to you well!
