    Recipe Introduction

    REALLY good!!!

    List of Ingredients

    DOUGH;
    2 sticks unsalted butter, softned
    8 oz. cream cheese, softned
    2 1/4 C. flour

    Filling;
    1 lb. finely ground walnuts
    1/2 C. sugar
    1/4-1/2 C. sweetned condensed milk
    1 t. vanilla
    2 T. melted butter

    Blend all ingredients together till well mixed.

    Recipe

    Beat together the butter and cream cheese in a lrg. mixing bowl with mixer on med. speed until smooth and fluffy.
    Reduce the mixer speed to low and gradually add the flour, beating just till the dough comes together.

    Divide dough into quarters - shape each portion into 1" thick squares, with even edges. Wrap each one tightly in seran wrap. Refridgerate at least 1 1/2 hrs. or till firm.

    Heat oven to 350'.

    Tear off 12" sheet of wax paper, working quickly - generously sprinkle wax paper w/flour. Put on 1 square of dough, keeping the rest in the fridge till ready to work with. Working with each square one at a time.

    With rolling pin, roll out to a 10" square. Cut this into 16-2 1/2" peices by, making 3 evenly cut horizontally lines and 3 evenly cut vertically lines. Cut through lines and this should give you 12-16 2 1/2" equal pieces.

    Place a slightly heaping teaspoonful of filling in the center of each square. With egg wash (1 egg whisked with little water) lightly dab 2 opposite corners of dough.
    Bring these 2 corners together and pinch to seal.

    **If dough gets too soft/sticky, just put it on a wax paper lined sheet in freezer for just a minute or so.***

    Place cookies 2" apart in ungreased cookie sheets and bake for 15 minutes or edges are golden.
    Immediately remove the cookies to a cooling rack. When cool, sprinkle lightly with powdered sugar.
