List of Ingredients
6 C. thin-sliced Cucumbers, (unpeeled)
1 lb. Onions, peeled and sliced
1 Green Pepper, shredded
1/4 C. Salt
BRINE:
2 C. Brown Sugar
1/2 t. Turmeric
1/4 t. ground Cloves
1 T. Mustard seeds
1/2 t. Celery seeds
2 C. Cider VinegarRecipe
Mix first 4 ingredients in large bowl, cover, and let stand for 3 hours.
After 3 hours, drain the vegetables thouroughly in a colander and rinse well with cold water.
Mix all the brind ingredients together and bring slowly to a boil and let boil for 5 minutes.
Add the drained and rinsed veg. to the hot syrup and heat slowly to just before boiling point, stirring occasionally.
Pack pickles into hot sterilized jars, leaving 1/4" head space. Adjust caps. Process pints for 10 minutes in a boiling water bath.
***Use pure salt NOT iodized***
