1 pkg. Devils food cake mix
1 C. Finely chopped nuts (walnuts/pecans)
1/2 C. Butter
1/2 C. Evaporated Milk (cn carnation)
1 C. Semi-sweet chocolate chips
35 caramel peices, unwrapped
1/3 C. Evaporated milk
Recipe
Combine the cake mix and nuts in a lrg. mixing bowl; cut in the butter. Stir in the 1/2 c. evap. milk, mix well.
Spread half of the batter in a buttered 9x13' pan. Bake about 20 minutes, or till done.
Combine caramels and 1/3 c. evap. milk in sm. saucepan. Cook over low heat, stirring occas. untill caramels are melted.
Sprinkle the choc. chips over the cake. Drizzle caramel over the top of choc. chips. Pour the other half of cake batter on top and return to oven and bake for another 20-25 min.
The top layer will be soft. Cool completely before cutting.
