List of Ingredients
2 lbs. Bartlett Pears
1/2 C. Water
2 C. SugarRecipe
Peel, core, and slice pears. Place them with the water in a non-aluminum heavy dutch oven pot. Simmer covered about 15 minutes or til tender. Mash with a potato masher or food processor til smooth.
Stir in the sugar, cook, uncovered at a bare simmer for 1 hour, stirring ocassionally-often during the last 30 minutes. Mixture will be very thick.
Spoon into sterilized jelly or pint jars and process in water bath for 10 minutes.
Refridgerate for up to 2 months.
***I like to also add a litle bit of cinnamon to mine***
