Recipe Introduction
I've always had a hard time actually "liking" meatloaf. Tried many many recipes over the years and just never found one that tasted all that great to me.
Then one day I was making oatmeal cookies and happened to see a recipe for meatloaf on the back of the container. I thought well-I've tried them all why not try this one.
WOW!!! I loved it!!! It's a very simple recipe but the one with the best taste "to ME"! I've made it ever since and it has become a family favorite! WE ALL LOVE IT!
List of Ingredients
1 pkg. Hamburger
1 sm. can tomato sauce
1 egg, beaten
1 onion, chopped
3/4 C. oatmeal (uncooked)
garlic powder to taste
season salt to taste (Lowrey's)
black pepper to tasteRecipe
Mix all ingredients together thoroughly and shape into a loaf, place in pan, frost the top with ketchup and bake at 350' for about 45min. to an hour or till done. (Depends on how much meat you use and how thick you form your loaf). I use about a lb. or 1 1/2 lbs. of meat and shape my loaf sorta oval and no more then about 3" thick.
When done, remove from oven and let rest for about 10-15 min. then I remove the loaf to a platter and slice.
