1/2 C butter
1 C. flour
2 T. water
1/2 C. butter
1 C. water
1 1/2 t. almond extract
1C. flour
3 eggs, beaten
sliced almonds
Glaze; 1 C. powdered sugar, 1t. butter,1t almond extract
Recipe
Heat oven to 350'. Combine 1/2 C. butter, 1 C. flour and 2T. of water to make a soft dough. Divide in half and pat dough out into two 12x3" rectangles on an ungreased baking sheeet.
In saucepan, bring butter and water to boil. Remove from heat and quickly stir in flour and almond extract. Stir over low heat and beat in the eggs all at once. Beat well, then spread it over top of the dough, covering both completely. Bake 50-60 minutes till golden brown. Top each with glaze, then sprinkle with sliced almonds. Let cool.
