1 - lb. dry Navy beans
2 stalks Celery, sliced
1 onion, chopped
2 lrg. carrots, cut coin style
Ham bone or ham hock
1/4 C. Barley
S&P to taste

Cook beans in pot with the vegetables and bone/hock just as you would any pot of beans. About 1 hour before ready to eat, add the barley and cook for about another hour. Make sure there is PLENTY of water in the beans when you add the barley.
