List of Ingredients
1 lb. sliced onions
1 T. sherry
3 C. beef consomme'
6 t. parmesean cheese
6 slices french bread, toasted
1/4 C. butter
salt and pepper to taste
3 C. chicken stock
6 slices provolone cheeseRecipe
Saute' onion in the butter until light brown. Add seasonings, beef consomme' and chicken stock. Cook for 20 minutes, then turn to boil for 10 minutes. Pour soup into 6 bowls and layer with slice of toast, provolone cheese and parmesean cheese. Place in 425' oven or under broiler until cheese melts and browns. Serve hot.
