1- lb. Hamburger
4 C. Water
5 medium potatoes, peeled & cubed
1 Bay leaf
S&P to taste
1-2 onions, chopped
1 Qt. canned tomatoes (I use home canned if I have them)
3 lrg. carrots, sliced
1/2- 1 lb. shr. cheese- mont. jack or cheddar
Recipe
In a 5 qt. kettle, brown hamburger with onion. Add water,tomatoes, potatoes, carrots, bay leaf, and seasonings. Cover and simmer untill veggies are tender, about 1 hour. Serve hot and pass the cheese to be sprinkled over the top of each bowl.
