    Irish Stew

    List of Ingredients

    1 1/2 lbs. lamb stew meat
    2 Teas. olive oil
    4 Cups cold water
    2 Cups sliced, peeled potatoes
    1 Medium onion, sliced
    1/2 Cup sliced carrots
    1/2 Cup cubed turnip
    1 Teas. salt
    1/2 Teas. each dried marjoram, thyme and crushed rosemary
    1/8 Teas. pepper
    2 Tbl. all-purpose flour
    2 Tbl. milk
    1/2 Teas. browning sauce (optional)
    3 Tbl. minced, fresh parsley

    Recipe

    In Dutch oven brown lamb in over medium-high heat. Add water, bring to a boil, reduce heat and simmer for 1 hour. Add the vegetables and seasonings, bring to a boil, then reduce heat, cover and simmer for 30 minutes. Combine the flour milk and browning sauce until smooth, stir into stew. Add parsley, bring to a boil. Cook and stir for another 2 minutes.
