Molasses Raisin Cookies

- 1/2 cup sugar
- 1/2 cup firmly packed brown sugar
- 3/4 cup margarine ro butter, softened
- 1/4 cup molasses
- 1 egg
- 2 1/2 cups Pillsbury BEST All Purpose Flour
- 1 teaspoon baking soda
- 1 teaspoon ginger
- 1 teaspoon cinnamon
- 1/2 teaspoon cloves
- 1/4 teaspoon salt
- 1 1/2 cups raisins
- 3 tablespoosn sugar
Instructions
- Heat oven to 325 F. In large bowl, combine 1/2 cup sugar, brown sugar and margarine; beat until light and fluffy. Add molasses and egg; blend well.
- Lightly spoon flour into measuring cup; level off. Add four, baking soda, ginger, cinnamon, cloves and salt; mix well. Stir in raisins. Shape into 1-inch balls. Place 2 inches apart on ungreased cookie sheets. Flatten to 1/8-inch thickness with bottom of glass dipped in 3 tablespoons sugar.
- Bake at 325 F. for 6 to 9 minutes or just until edges begin to brown. Immediately remove from cookie sheets.
