List of Ingredients
- 6 oz. (2 cups) uncooked penne or mostaccioli (tube-shaped pasta)
- 1 (1-lb.) pkg. Green Giant Select Frozen Broccoli, Carrots and Cauliflower
- 2 tablespoons maragarine or butter
- 2 tablespoons Pillsbury BEST All Purpose or Unbleached Flour
- 1/4 teaspoon pepper
- 1 1/2 cups milk
- 5 oz. smoked Gouda cheese, diced (1 1/4 cups)
- 12 oz. smoked sausage, halved lengthwise, sliced
Instructions
- Heat oven to 350 F. Spray 2-quart casserole with nonstick cooking spray. In large saucepan, cook penne to desired doneness as directed on package, adding frozen vegetables during last minute of cooking time. Drain; return to saucepan.
- Meanwhile, melt margarine in medium saucepan over medium heat. Stir in flour and pepper; cook until mixture is smooth and bubbly. Gradually add milk, stirring constantly, until mixture boils and thickens. Remove from heat. Add cheese; stir until melted.
- Add sauce and sausage to cooked penne and vegetables; mix well. Pour into sprayed casserole. Cover tightly.
- Bake at 350 F. for 30 to 35 minutes or until thoroughly heated.
