Recipe Introduction
Serve with FF Cool Whip or Frozen Yogurt for extra pts.
1 cup of filling and 4 dumplings (1 whole biscuit) is 3 pts. Or 2/3 cups of filling and 4 dumplings is 2 pts.
I am sure the recipe could be done with other pie fillings however, cherries just seem to do well. Also, I haven't tried not quartering the biscuits but I am sure that would work well too, then you don't have to fish out 4 dumplings. If anyone tries this let me know!
List of Ingredients
1 can light cherry pie filling (I used lucky leaf)
1 package of pillsbury buttermilk biscuits (these are the ones that are plain and have 50 cals/1 pt. per biscuit)
Recipe
In a sauce pan pour filling, about 1/3 cup of water (depends on how thick you want your mixture to be). I then add cinnamon and splenda to taste, however you can add whatever you like. A dash of vanilla extract is good as well. Bring this mixture to a boil. While the mixture is heating up quarter biscuits. Once filling boils drop biscuits in. Let simmer on med. heat for 10-15 mins. or until dough is cooked through. Make sure your stir the mixture so that the bottom doesn't burn and stick to the pan. Also try to keep biscuits fully covered in filling.
