Hot Crab Dip
List of Ingredients
- 1 can lump crab meat (back fin is best)
- 8 oz. sour cream
- 8 oz. cream cheese
- 1 tbsp. mayonnaise
- 1 tsp. white pepper
- 1 cup grated cheddar cheese
- paprika
- large baguette french bread
Instructions
- Preheat oven to 325 degrees
- Grease a 1 qt. Pyrex or Corning Ware-type baking dish
- Clean crab meat, seperating any cartilage and shell
- Mix together the cream cheese, sour cream, mayonnaise white pepper and 1/2 cup of grated cheddar
- Fold in the cleaned crab meat
- Dump into greased baking dish
- Spead remaining cheddar on top and sprinkle with paprika
- Bake at 325 degrees for 30 minutes, until heated through and cheddar is melted on top
- Serve hot with sliced french bread or crackers
Final Comments
This is a real artery clogger, but it's worth it. A poor man's version uses diced imitation crab. For a low calorie version, use low fat sour cream, cream cheese and mayonnaise - but why bother?
