    Hot Crab Dip


    List of Ingredients


    • 1 can lump crab meat (back fin is best)
    • 8 oz. sour cream
    • 8 oz. cream cheese
    • 1 tbsp. mayonnaise
    • 1 tsp. white pepper
    • 1 cup grated cheddar cheese
    • paprika
    • large baguette french bread


    Instructions


    1. Preheat oven to 325 degrees
    2. Grease a 1 qt. Pyrex or Corning Ware-type baking dish
    3. Clean crab meat, seperating any cartilage and shell
    4. Mix together the cream cheese, sour cream, mayonnaise white pepper and 1/2 cup of grated cheddar
    5. Fold in the cleaned crab meat
    6. Dump into greased baking dish
    7. Spead remaining cheddar on top and sprinkle with paprika
    8. Bake at 325 degrees for 30 minutes, until heated through and cheddar is melted on top
    9. Serve hot with sliced french bread or crackers


    Final Comments


    This is a real artery clogger, but it's worth it. A poor man's version uses diced imitation crab. For a low calorie version, use low fat sour cream, cream cheese and mayonnaise - but why bother?
