Tahitian Death Balls
List of Ingredients
- 1 lb. ground goat meat
- 3/4 cup bread crumbs
- 1/4 cup minced onion
- 3/4 tbsp. cornstarch
- 1/4 tsp. Allspice
- 1 egg, slightly beaten
- 3/4 cup milk
- salt & pepper
- 1/4 cooking oil
- 1 tbsp flour
- 2 cans consoumee
- 1/2 cup sherry
Instructions
- Mix ground Goat meat, bread crumbs, minced onion, cornstarch, Allspice, egg, milk & salt & pepper
- When mixture is sticky, form into small (for Hors D'oeuvres) or large (for dinners)balls
- In large pot, mix oil, consoumee, and half of sherry and bring to near boil
- Put goatballs into pot and simmer until goatballs firm up (an hour or so)
- Add flour to thicken gravy
- Add rest of sherry sherry about 5 minutes before serving
- Can be prepared, refridgerated and re-heated. Serve as Hors D'oeuvres in flat chafing dish with toothpicks or over rice as dinner
