Recipe Introduction
My mom always made applesauce cake from a recipe from my Aunt Betty. Well, it took all day to make and it smelled wonderful. My sisters and I always tried to duplicate it from the recipe, but we never got it right. But, thanks to the cake mix dr. book I have finally done it in less than half the time and the ingredients have been reduced a lot.
List of Ingredients
1 box Spice cake mix
1-2 tbls cinnamon to taste
1 can apple pie filling, chopped somewhat
3 eggs
1/2 cup raisins
1/4 cup chopped walnuts (optional)
Recipe
In a large bowl combine all ingredients. Stirring with large spoon till completely combined. I used a loaf pan, but I am sure you can use a bundt pan. Pour into well greased and floured pan. Bake at 350 for 40-50 min. I live in a high altitude, so it did take me about 50 min. You want to start checking it after a half hour. Cake is done when you insert tooth pick and it comes out clean.
* Very low-fat cake!
