Blonde Brownies
List of Ingredients
BLONDE BROWNIES
2/3 cups shortening
2 1/4 cups brown sugar (1 box)
3 eggs
2 1/3 cups flour
2 tsp. baking powder
1 tsp. salt
1 tsp. vanilla
1 cup chopped walnuts (opt.)
1 pkg. chocolate chips (6 oz.) (opt.)
Recipe
Melt shortening in saucepan just to melting point. Stir in brown sugar.
Cool slightly, put in mixer bowl. Beat in 1 egg at a
time until smooth. Sift dry ingredients. Stir into brown sugar mixture.
Add vanilla and mix well. Add nuts and chips. Mix
well. Spread into greased 9" x 13" pan. Bake at 350 for 20 to 25
minutes. Cut into squares while warm and sprinkle with
powdered sugar when cool.
