    List of Ingredients




    1/2 c. softened butter
    3/4 c. sugar
    1 tsp. vanilla
    2 slightly beaten eggs
    2 scant c. self-rising flour
    Pinch of salt
    1/2 c. milk
    1 lb. sifted confectioners' sugar
    2 tbsp. cocoa
    6 tbsp. boiling water
    1 tsp. softened butter
    1/4 tsp. vanilla
    8 oz. coconut

    Recipe



    In a large mixing bowl, beat butter, sugar and vanilla until light and fluffy. Gradually beat in eggs. In separate bowl, combine flour and salt; sift 3 times. Add to butter mixture alternately with milk, beginning and ending with flour. Pour into greased and wax paper lined 9x9 inch baking pan. Bake at 375 degrees for 30-35 minutes or until cake pulls away slightly from the edge of pan. Cool completely or let stand, covered overnight. Cut into 1 1/2 inch squares. In large mixing bowl, combine confectioners' sugar and cocoa. Add water, butter and vanilla. Stir until smooth and shiny. Roll cake squares in above mixture, then in coconut. Let stand on wax paper until chocolate is firm. If mixture becomes too thick, stand bowl in hot water.
