    List of Ingredients




    3 Tbs fresh lemon juice
    1/2 tsp hot sauce
    1 1/2 lbs peeled and deveined large shrimp
    2 bacon slices (cooked and chopped)
    1 cup onion
    1/4 cup bell pepper
    1 1/2 tsp garlic minced
    1 cup chicken broth
    1/2 cup green onions chopped and divided
    5 cups water
    1 1/2 cups uncooked quick grits
    1 Tbs butter
    1 tsp salt
    3/4 cup shredded sharp cheddar cheese

    Recipe



    1. After cooking bacon until crisp, remove from skillet to add to bacon drippings, onion, bellpepper and garlic for about 5 minutes.

    2. Stir in shrimp, broth, and 1/4 cup chopped green onions, cook 5 minutes, stirring frequently.

    3. Bring water to boil, add grits gradually, stirring constantly.

    4. Reduce to low heat, simmer, covered 5 minutes or until thick.

    5. Stir in butter and salt.

    6. Serve shrimp over grits, sprinkle with cheese and remaining green onions.
