Southern Shrimp Linguini
Recipe Introduction
Here is an EASY recipe that can be put together quickly and has always gotten great comments when made!
List of Ingredients
- 2 lbs. medium, peeled shrimp
- 1/2 cup cooking oil
- 1/2 cup flour
- 1 onion, chopped
- 1 green bell pepper, chopped
- 6-8 cloves of garlic, crushed
- 2 stalks celery, chopped
- 1 can cream of celery soup
- 1 can golden mushroom soup
- 1 can cream of shrimp soup
- 1 can chopped mushrooms
- salt & pepper to taste
- cooked linguini noodles
Instructions
- Mix oil and flour and lightly brown on a medium heat. When roux is just starting to brown, add chopped onion, green pepper, garlic and celery. This will cool the roux some and prevent it from browning further. Saute this for a few minutes until vegetables start to become tender.
- Add the three cans of soup and heat through.
- Add mushrooms and shrimp. Continue cooking and stir often while the shrimp cook.....between 30-45 minutes, depending on the heat. Salt & pepper to taste.
- Serve over a pile of linguini noodles and enjoy!!
Final Comments
You can also add tabasco sauce and a dash of worchestershire sauce if you like. Serve along with a piece of toasted garlic bread!!!
