    Soft cut out sugar cookies

    List of Ingredients





    1/2 cup shortening
    3/4 cup sugar
    1 egg
    1 T. milk
    1/4 teaspoon salt
    1 teaspoon vanilla
    1 1/4 cup flour
    1/4 teaspoon baking powder

    Recipe




    Mix shortening, sugar. Add egg. Stir in milk and vanilla. Sift dry ingredients and add. Chill. Roll out and cut. Placed on greased cookie sheet. Bake at 425°.Note: Be sure to chill dough or you will be working too much flour into it. Also, bake until dry but not brown. You may think it is underbake but it will not be. You may need to experiment until you learn to tell what color they need to be. I can't make these too often or I eat too many!! They are so-o-o-o- good with coffee in the morning!
