    Beef bulalo stew

    List of Ingredients




    1/4 cup cooking oil
    1 kilo beef bulalo (sliced 1/2-inch thick)
    1 clove garlic, crushed
    1 medium onion, sliced
    2 tablespoons soy sauce
    1/2 teaspoon peppercorns
    1 cup tomato sauce
    1 cup button mushrooms, sliced
    1 piece laurel leaf
    1 teaspoon salt
    2 cups water

    Recipe



    1. In a large pan heat cooking oil and brown meat slices. Remove meat from heat and set aside.
    2. In the same oil, sauté garlic and onion slices. Cook for 5 minutes. Add soy sauce, peppercorns, tomato sauce, mushrooms, laurel leaf and salt. Return beef to pan. Simmer for a few minutes.
    3. Add water, cover and simmer until meat is tender, about one hour.
    4. When done arrange bulalo slices in a platter and pour sauce over meat. Serve hot with rice.
