    Easy Pie Crust

    Source of Recipe

    Jennifer Stewart

    List of Ingredients

    • 2 1/4 cups flour
    • 1/2 teaspoon salt
    • 1/2 cup vegetable oil
    • 6 Tablespoons cold milk

    Instructions

    1. Preheat oven to 425. Combine the flour and the salt in a large bowl.

    2. Pour the oil into a glass measuring cup and add the milk. DO NOT stir the oil and milk mixture.

    3. Create a basin in the flour mixture and pour in the oil mixture.

    4. Stir until a dough begins to form. Continue working the mixture until a dough is completely formed. Do not overwork the dough. This will only make the pie crust tough.

    5. Between 2 pieces of wax paper, roll out 2/3 of the dough for your bottom crust. Place in pie pan. Fill. Repeat the rolling process with the remaining dough for the top crust. Place on top of pie and flute the edges. Cut ventilation slits in top crust.

    6. Bake at 425 for 15 minutes. Reduce heat and continue to bake for 45 to 60 minutes or according to filling instructions.

    Final Comments

If you need a one crust pre-baked pie crust, simply roll out 2/3 of dough and place in pie pan. Flute the edges and pierce the bottom of crust with a fork in several places. Bake @ 425 for 15 minutes or until golden brown. Remove and let cool before filling.
The remainder of the dough can be made into little homemade cinnamon rolls.
