    1 c all-purpose flour
    1/2 c sugar
    2 Tbsp cocoa
    2 tsp baking powder
    1/2 tsp salt
    1/2 c milk
    2 Tbsp vegetable oil
    1 tsp vanilla extract
    1/2 c chopped walnuts or pecans
    1/2 c halved maraschino cherries
    3/4 c packed brown sugar
    1/4 c cocoa
    1 1/2 c hot water

    Recipe



    Combine the flour, sugar, cocoa, baking powder and salt in a mixing bowl. Stir in the milk, oil and vanilla until smooth. Stir in the nuts and cherries and spread in the bottom of a lightly greased slow cooker. Combine the rest of the ingredients, stir until smooth, and pour over the batter. Cook covered on high until a toothpick inserted in the center comes out clean, 2 - 2 1/2 hours. the sauce in the bottom of the slow cooker will thicken if you let it cool before serving. Serve warm or at room temperature. Serves 6-8.
