    Battered Fish

    List of Ingredients


    • 2/3 c. flour
    • 1/2 tsp. salt
    • 1 Tbsp. white vinegar
    • 2/3 c. water
    • 1 lb. Cod or Halibut fillets


    Instructions


    1. Cut fish into 2 x 1-1/2 inch pieces. Rinse well. Pat dry with paper towels.

    2. Mix flour and salt together. Mix baking soda and vinegar. Stir vinegar mixture and water into flour mixture; beat until smooth.

    3. Dip fish pieces in additional flour to coat. Dip in batter mixture; allow excess bater to drip back into bowl. Fry 4-5 pieces a time in hot (375^) oil until brown, turning once, about 3 minutes. Drain on paper towls.

    4. Note: Do not use basket for fish as batter will stick to it.
