Bread Pudding

List of Ingredients
- 6 slices day-old bread
- 2 Tbsp. butter, melted
- 1/2 c. raisins (optional)
- 4 eggs, beaten
- 2 c. milk (or light cream)
- 3/4 c. white sugar
- 1 tsp. ground cinnamon
- 1 tsp. vanilla extract
Instructions
- Heat oven to 350 degrees.
- Break bread into small pieces in an 8" squar baking dish. Drizzle melted butter or margarine over bread. If desired, sprinkle with raisins.
- In medium mixing bowl, combine eggs, milk or cream, sugar, cinnamon and vanilla. Beat until well mixed. Pour over bread, and lightly push down with a fork until bread is covered and soaking up the egg mixture.
- Place pan in larger pan and add water to large pan up to 1". Bake for 45 minutes to 1 hour or until the top springs back when lightly tapped.
- Serves 12.
Final Comments
May be doubled, but a larger pan will need to be cooked longer.
