    Recipe Introduction

Recipe can easily be cut in half and baked in 8-in x 8-in glass pan.

    List of Ingredients

    STREUSEL TOPPING:
    1 c Bisquick mix
    ½ c chopped nuts (I use pecans)
    1/3 c packed brown sugar
3 Tbsp firm butter or margarine

    FILLING:
6 c thinly sliced peeled tart apples (4-6 medium)
    1 c granulated sugar
    ¾ c Bisquick mix
    ¾ c milk
2 Tbsp butter or margarine, softened
    1¼ tsp ground cinnamon
    ¼ tsp ground nutmeg
    2 eggs

    Recipe

    Heat oven to 350°

Grease 13-in x 9-in (3 qt) glass baking dish with shortening or cooking spray. In small bowl, mix 1 c Bisquick mix, the nuts and brown sugar. Cut in 3 Tbsp firm butter with fork or pastry blender until mixture is crumbly; set aside.

Spread apples in baking dish. In medium bowl, stir remaining filling ingredients until blended. Pour over apples. Sprinkle with streusel topping.

Bake about 55 minutes or until knife inserted in center comes out clean; cool slightly, about 30 minutes. Serve warm with ice cream, if desired.

    Makes 12 servings
