Chicken Pitas with Sauteed Onions & Appl

List of Ingredients
- 1 Tbsp olive oil
- 1 lb. skinless,boneless chicken breast cut into bite size pieces
- 1/2 tsp salt
- 1/2 tsp ground nutmeg
- 1/2 tsp cinnamon
- 1/2 tsp freshly ground black pepper
- 1 Tbsp butter
- 2 cups thinly sliced onions
- 2 cups thinly sliced,peeled granny smith apple
- 2 garlic cloves,minced
- 2 large(6 1/2-8 in.)pitas,split and cut in half(8 pieces)
Instructions
- Heat oil in a large nonstick skillet over med-high heat. Sprinkle the chicken evenly with the salt, nutmeg,cinnamon and pepper. Add chicken to pan,saute 7 min. or until golden. Remove the chicken from pan,keep warm.
- Melt butter in pan over med. heat. Add onion,cook 4 min. or until tender,stirring frequently. Add apple; cook 6 min. or until golden,stirring frequently. Add garlic;cook 30 seconds,stirring constantly. Return chicken to pan;cook 2 min. or until thoroughly heated, stirring frequently.
- Warm pitas in microwave for 10 seconds. Arrange 1/2 cup of chicken misture evenly on pita and roll up.
- 4 servings(2 pita quarters)
