    Sourdough-Like Beer Bread

    List of Ingredients




    1 1/3 cups beer (preferably a dark ale)
    8 tsp. oil
    4 cups flour (I use half unbleached white & half whole wheat)
    8 tsp. sugar
    2 tsp. salt
    2 ¼ tsp. yeast

    Recipe



    Place ingredients in pan.
    Select basic/normal cycle.
    Check dough consistency after 5 minutes of kneading. If the dough is dry and stiff, add beer 1 tablespoon at a time.* If it is wet and sticky, add 1 tablespoon of flour at a time.
    *Important note:Don't drink all your beer until you're sure that you don't need more for the bread!
