Crust for 2 crust pie: 1 2/3 c. flour,1/2 teas.salt,1 teas.baking powder,1/3 c. ice cold water,1/2 c. oil. Filling: 7-8 tart(gravensteins)or combo kinds of apples,1 c. sugar,3 Tbls.flour,3/4 Tbls.cinnamon,1/4 teas.nutmeg,2 Tbls.butter.Recipe
Crust: Put all except ice water in food processor.Slowly add water,pulsing till dough is combined(Mix little as possible).(Roll dough between wax paper to avoid sticking;,Handle dough little as possible to keep flaky and not tough) Roll 1/2 of the dough and place in pie plate.Cut off extra dough from around edges.Poke with fork to prevent air bubbles.
Mix Apples with rest of ingredients except butter in large bowl.
Place apple mixture into pie plate,top with butter.Roll out other 1/2 dough,place on top of pie.(hint;Press crusts together gently with fork tines to seal before crimping)Pinch/crimp edges to seal.Poke top crust with fork.Sprinkle with sugar,or egg white wash the top..Bake 375* 50-60 mins.
